sooooo, thanks to Billabong, Kannon Beach, Von Zipper, Kustom, Excel and Nixon, EC Lips, Christian Surfers Canada - we get to put on a women's contest every year. we decided to switch things up this year and have a winter expression session.



this is the best format EVER. we got to wait for surfable surf (hey, we live in NS, we need friggin long waiting periods) and we filmed the session to be judged after the fact.


The energy was awesome. Sarah from Rose and Rooster bakery showed up with COOKIES:)

the footage was judged by master longboarder: Sarah Zollinger, Local yokel: Jermaine Morris, SANS president and winner of 2010 SAN men's shortboarding division (whut): Justin Houston and the one and only pro surfer from ns (owner of East Coast Quicksilver Surf School): Nico Manos.



It was an insanely tight competition. the level of women's surfing is getting better and better in lil ole NS - we need to thank the energy of up and comers like Jill Manos (who regrettably missed the contest) for this surge in talent.

I did not complete and must admit, cheering is the funnest part!
